As I have stated in my year 2010 posting that I have a personal reading goal of at least 15 books per year, this year is quite similar as I have managed to read more than the amount that I have set. However, I did not read very intensively in year 2011 compared to year 2010 as I have set priorities in other areas like taking up real estate courses and creating my new housing in Singapore site.

Personally, I start to love the library and the books as they provide a lot of useful information for me to enjoy. Recently, I watched a youtube video by Darren Hardy which my colleagues shared with me that made me ponder about how to make use of the knowledge that I have gained from the books I have read. I think I might have to start learning about taking notes like a student and implement the useful information that I have found in the books into my personal life.

Anyway, the following is the list of books that I have read in the year 2011:

As you can see, I have started picking up a lot on real estate books and a few books on selling. Personally, I feel that things are getting more interesting as I am planning to venture full-time into real estate in a few months time. There are a lot of people that I met tell me to stay put at my job as the economy is getting worst but I really see it as a challenge for myself to learn more through it. I know those people who gave their advice to stay put is fearful about the upcoming financial crisis and hope that I can bear through it without any problems but I feel that in life, we must always challenge ourselves in order to excel and achieve what we want. I do have a belief that we should never give in so easily to life challenges or you will not have really live a meaningful life. I do hope more people can support my point of view and wish me all the best along my journey to success.

Are you comfortable with dress smart? Do you realize something about dressing smart do help in boosting our self image plus confidence through the eyes of others and even ourselves. Recently, I have started changing my way of dressing when going to work and I was astonished by the looks and questions of my colleagues in my working areas. The reason for the change of dressing was because I am actually preparing myself for my upcoming career path (Real Estate Salesperson) and I did not really inform a lot of people at my current workplace yet as I do not want to spread the words too soon until the day I am about to leave.

There are questions from my colleagues asking why am I dressing so smartly in a school environment and some even thought that I am actually going for a job interview. However, I do feel surprised that they have this kind of reactions as I am only dressing in smart casual without the full smart shirt yet. Personally, I do know a few colleagues who actually dress up even more formal than me and they gave me a very good first impression whenever I see them as they look smart. Let me ask you a question about what is your expectation when you are going to meet someone who is in the professional field or someone who are going for a corporate job interview. You will definitely expect them to dress up nicely unless they are someone who has their own style of looking cool (like Steve Jobs). Basically, what am I trying to get to you is that dressing smart is something very important that I feel can help to boost your client’s confidence in you through their first impression and what you really need to build in yourself is that confidence level. However, dressing smart is just a first part of building a good impression in someone’s eyes. There are still things that need to be work on like training yourself on how to speak confidently in front of your clients in order to protrude a convincing message towards them to show that you are a capable person who can deliver. Other than learning how to speak well, the way you walk with the body language that you deliver is also very important towards boosting the first impression in someone else eyes.

I do not know whether you have different views about how to dress smart to boost impression but this is what I feel through my own observation and experience. Right now, I am on a path to discover more of what I want to achieve in my personal life and also learning from people who have already achieved what I want. Do checkout on this site once a month to find out more of what I will share on this personal site of mine. I will keep track of what I have learned and explored along my journey to success on this personal blog. Cheers.

Recently, I watch this movie called “Coach Carter” and was pretty inspired by the belief that the coach inspired on his team members. Therefore, I decided to share with you this movie that I felt is a must to watch if you are really on your journey to success. I do learn a lot of stuff from this movie itself as personally you can learn how one person can change other people’s lives if he has the belief and persistence. There might be a lot of negativity along your journey but you must really stay persistent with your principles to let other believe that you are providing the values and help.

The following is one of the most inspirational coach carter quotes in the movie:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Personally, I am in the transition of moving from a stable job income to become a real estate salesperson which would not have a basic pay as it is fully earned by commission service basis. I do feel the fear in me as there are a lot of commitment in life that I need to keep and it is a new field that I will endeavour . However, I also know that this move will bring me greater experience and challenge to become someone with more confident in myself. There are a lot of fear that I see in myself but I do believe that I will do great along the way if I stay firm with my belief that I will succeed in my journey to success. I will definitely meet more greater people in my journey and I do hope the sites I have created will provide values for people along the way.
Recently, I have found this video on youtube that I feel that I should share it with anyone who is reading my blog. Personally, I learn quite a lot through Jim Rohn’s audio books and videos and I feel that we should really learn from him about the lessons of life.

Words from the video:

There are a half dozen things…
…that make 80% of the difference

The difference between triumphant success or bitter failure…

…lies in the degree of our commitment

..to seek out, study, and apply those half-dozen things.

Learn to be happy.

Happiness is activity with purpose

It’s love in practice

It’s both a grasp of the obvious and the mysterious.

Discipline yourself

Discipline is the most critical ingredient for success.

It’s the master key that unlocks the door to wealth and happiness…

…the glue that binds inspiration to achievement…

…the bridge between thought and accomplishment.

We must all suffer from one of two pains:
the pain of discipline
or the pain of regret

The difference is discipline weighs ounces
while regret weighs tons

Embrace change.
Unless you change how you are, you’ll always have what you’ve got.
You can change all things for the better
when you change yourself for the better.

You cannot change your destination overnight,
but you can change your direction.

Live well.

Don’t just learn how to earn.
Learn how to live.
The good life is not an amount.
It’s an attitude,
an act,
an idea,
a discovery.

Remember always…
Life is worthwhile
if you TRY.
Try to make progress.
Try your best.

Life is worthwhile
if you GIVE.
Giving starts the receiving process.

Life is worthwhile if you PLAN.
Design your own life
or someone else will.
Let others lead small lives,
but not YOU.
Let others argue over small things,
but not YOU.
Let others cry over small hurts,
but not YOU.
Let others leave their futures
in other peoples’ hands.
but not YOU.

Have you ever watched before the movie called “The Karate Kid” by Jaden Smith with Jackie Chan. It’s a really great movie with a great song sang by Justin Bieber with Jaden Smith rapping part of it. Recently, I got to hear the song “Never Say Never” again and it makes me wanted to find out more about it’s lyrics. After going through the song lyrics, I felt that I should share it with all my readers who are also on the journey to success to learn from this “Never Say Never” attitude.

Personally, I have read before quite a number of self-help materials and most of them are mentioning about persistent is a very criteria towards success in life. Therefore, I felt that this song really suits anyone who are on their own journey to success. Whenever you are feeling down, just remember to sing this song in your heart to remind yourself to never say never from giving up so easily.

I have attached the “Never Say Never” youtube video here for you to listen to the song if you have not hear it before. While listening to the song, refer to the lyrics below to get a clearer idea of what I am actually talking about above.

Never say never
Never ever, never, never ever, never ever

See I never thought that I could walk through fire
I never thought that I could take the burn
I never had the strength to take it higher
Until I reached the point of no return

And there’s just no turning back
When your heart’s under attack
Gonna give everything I have
It’s my destiny

I will never say never
I will fight
I will fight ’til forever
To make it right

Whenever you knock me down
I will not stay on the ground
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, up, up
And never say never

Ne-never say never
Ne-never say never
Ne-never say never
Never say it, never, never say it

I never thought I could feel this power
I never thought that I could feel this free
I’m strong enough to climb the highest tower
And I’m fast enough to run across the sea

And there’s just no turning back
When your heart’s under attack
Gonna give everything I have
‘Cause this is my destiny

I will never say never
I will fight
I will fight ’til forever
To make it right

Whenever you knock me down
I will not stay on the ground
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, up, up, up
And never say never

Here we go, guess who?
J Smith and JB
I gotcha lil bro, I can handle him
Hold up, aight? I can handle him

Now he’s bigger than me, taller than me
And he’s older than me and stronger than me
And his arm’s a little bit longer than me
But he ain’t on a JB song with me

I be tryna chill
They be trying to side with the thrill
No pun intended
Was raised by the power of Will

Like Luke with the Force
If push comes to shove
Like Kobe in the fourth
Ice water in blood

I gotta be the best, and yes we’re the fliest
Like David and Goliath, I conquered the giant
So now I got the world in my hand
I was born from two stars, so the moon’s where I land

I will never say never
I will fight
I will fight ’til forever
To make it right

Whenever you knock me down
I will not stay on the ground
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, up, up, up
And never say never

I will never say never
I will fight
I will fight ’til forever
To make it right

Whenever you knock me down
I will not stay on the ground
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, up, up, up
And never say never

Ne-never say never
Never say it
Ne-never say never
Never say it
Ne-never say never
Never say it
And never say never

Ne-never say never
Never say it
Ne-never say never
Never say it
Ne-never say never
Never say it
And never say never

The above lyrics is retrieved from DirectLyrics.com.

Anyway, if you can get this song and put it as your ringtone for your cell phone like what I do will be great too as it is really pretty nice. It is quite meaningful and funny especially when the part “Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, up, up, up” is reached while your phone is ringing. Do comment and let me know if you like this song or sharing I have in the comment section.

Recently, I got a self-thought idea about this question about whether am I giving in to myself too much. I do not know whether do you feel the same way to yourself or not but I do have this kind of feeling that I am giving in to myself too much. I do not wake up on time or finish the things that I am suppose to complete and also delay my schedule of things on hand due to other things that surface up in my life. I do not know whether are you feeling the same way as what I am feeling.

Anyway, let me ask you a question about whether will you be unhappy when your friend is taking advantage of your kindness. If you are feeling unhappy with someone or something, it is because you got your own principles and belief that something or someone should behave a certain way. Therefore, you do not tolerate the way others behave and will not give in to how they behave. However, do you treat yourself with the same principles and belief that you put onto others? Are you expecting yourself to behave the way you want others to behave? If you do expect yourself to behave in a certain way and do not wish to change your belief on yourself when unexpected things comes into place, you have to start to learn how to discipline yourselves to get more aware of your own actions and decide whether you are giving in to yourself or not.

Personally, I feel that in order to achieve what I want in my journey to success, there will definitely be a price to pay. I must not be able to easily give in so easily to my own wish when things occur in my life, I do have to stay firm to my own initially plan and follow through in order to gain the pleasure when see the fruits coming in after bearing through the hardship. Currently, I have settled down to set my definite chief aim in life after thinking through Napolean Hill’s philosophy and I will start to put things into place to fill up the blanks. Will update here again once I start to put the pieces into place. Cheers.

Today blog post is about are you feeling comfortable with other people’s views on you. If you are someone who is actually persuing success, it is very importable to be aware of whether you are taking in people’s views on you. We all know that we should not take it too hard of how people view on us as it will be very busy for us to keep track of all kind of views from so many people. We must be self aware of our own behavior and whatever we do, we must be comfortable without having to care so much about how other people are viewing on us. If you are currently persuing your own success, you might feel uncomfortable about what your friends or relatives will think if you are not doing what regular people are doing. Examples are like persuing a career that most people will not go into or not working in a normal 9 to 5 job and setting up your own business instead.

I have friends who will ask me why I did not want to continue my studies and I should not persue what I am persuing right now as it might be risky towards my own future. They are saying the same old thing like the old generation mentioned, study hard, get a degree and find a good job after that. However, do they know that a lot of people are unemployed even after they got a degree or they are not doing what they are loved even after graduation. Initially, I am quite uncomfortable about their views on what I am doing and I am wondering why as friends, they did not provide the support I need but give comments when they did not try it before. Even if they have tried it before, it doesn’t mean that I cannot achieve if they did not achieve in the first place. From some research that I read from some books, I realized that it is very common for friends or relatives to give comments when they feel uncomfortable with the ideas of us venturing into something new that they have not explored before. However, we must stand firm to our own ideas and not like other people influence our decision of what we want to do.

Recently, I have a funny incident that happened to me that made me realize something about my views on how people view at me. I went out of my house without being aware that I wore my Polo T-shirt in the opposite way of inside out. I didn’t realize it until when I feel that my collar is a bit weird. After realizing that I have wore my Polo T-shirt inside out, my mind starts to wonder of what people will view of me or laugh at me. However, I message my girlfriend about this incident and she mentioned something that kick me out of my uncomfortable state. In her message, she mentioned that why do I have to feel weird when I am still considered of having my clothes on. It is true that we should not take other people’s view too hard on ourselves as people will not care so much after giving the particular remarks or comments as once they are back to their normal life, they will forget about what remarks or comments they have given previously. Therefore, no point taking other people’s views or remarks about us too hard on ourselves. If you want to have a taste of feeling the inner feeling of how people look at you and hear the inner voice in yourself, you might want to try out the exercise of doing something weird like what I accidentally did to myself by wearing your shirt in the opposite way.

Hope you are firm with your own decision and not be influence by other people’s point of views. Persist and you will definitely achieve what you want in life.

It’s been quite a while since my last update as I have been quite busy recently due to the big decision and comfort zone stretch that I have done on myself. Firstly, I have to update some good news regarding my internet marketing effort as I have break the point of consistent 2 figure income to 3 figure instead. My second site that I least expect to make money starts to generate some sales and my 1st site boasted in traffic and caused more sales to come in. Although the good news came in, I am still not quite satisfied with myself as I feel that my growth seems to be quite slow. This caused me to go through quite a while of low mood period as I find myself progressing too slowly already as I have started doing internet marketing for quite some time already. Therefore, I start to think of alternatives to ways to grow myself and build more passive income.

What actually comes to my mind is going for commission based jobs like becoming a real estate agent or insurance agent that will help to build more income for myself so that I can use that money to invest into building a system for generating more passive income. Personally, I start to have a love for real estate and wants to find out more about the details of those big beautiful houses that I always sees in the movies. Therefore, I decided to take up the real estate agent course instead and learn why the rich want to acquire some money assests. My course has already started and it falls on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after my work. Personally, I do believe that learning how to sell is an important aspect in my journey to success and one of my plans is to join a local toastmaster club once I have passed the real estate agent test and managed to join into the real estate company. On the other hand, I will still continue to build my affiliate sites and hope to make more income from it so that it can support my marketing effort for my future real estate business.

Next, I have also signed up Robert Kiyosaki’s rich dad coaching course and hope that the rich dad coach will be able to hold me accountable for my goals and plans that I have toward building a financial freedom lifestyle. Let’s see how things will go as I start to feel the comfort zone stretch in myself after making all the above moves. Personally, I feel that all the above things will help me grow but there’s so many self doubts and negativity about investing my money into all these courses do make me worry about the plan. However, what I believe I can do is keep on moving forward and one day I will definitely reach the point I want to achieve. Do look out for my updates along my journey to success. May success be with you too.

It’s been quite a long time since my last update on my personal blog as I have been busy preparing for my trip to Thailand in March and sorting out my personal thoughts in myself. The reason why I decided to go to Thailand for a visit was because I won a complimentary stay at a resort in Chiang Mai called Baae Sae Moi through one of the online survey I did in the previous year. My trip to Thailand consist of a 5 days trip to both Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Before the trip to Thailand, I was quite worried as there’s a natural disaster happened in Japan somewhere in mid March. Luckily, it did not affect Thailand as it was quite far away.

My trip to Bangkok let me realized that the air in Singapore is much better as we have a better traffic system with lesser traffic jam. When I first arrived in Bangkok, we were faced by it’s traffic jam when we were going to our hotel which is about an hour ride away from the airport. The clothings over there were really very cheap and they were selling in bulk which means that you have to buy in bulk in order to get it for a cheaper price (no wonder there’s a lot of people getting their goods from Bangkok to sell in Singapore). They would give you a cheaper price if you are able to buy more. However, I only bought 3 pieces of clothings for myself as I am not those people who likes to buy a lot of clothings as I know my shared cupboard with my brother won’t be able to contain so much. Haha.

Anyway, I was quite surprised to hear the local tour guide that we engaged saying that there were over 40,000 temples in Thailand and I did went to see a few Buddhas in Bangkok. One particular Buddha was made in real Gold and it cost about 100 over millions to make it and got one is a 15m long sleeping style Buddha. There’s really a lot of different style over there in Thailand and our trip in Bangkok were mainly going to those temples, tailor shops and their well-known gem factory. Initially, we were quite reluctant to sit on their Tuk-Tuk as we have heard stories about how much they will charge overseas tourists. However, we met a security guard who told us the rough estimate pricing we can demand before taking the Tuk-Tuk and it started our ride on the Tuk-Tuk. The ride on the Tuk-Tuk was really an exciting trip as the driver know how to take short cuts through the streets and shorten the distance to your destination. However, I can say that it was not really advisable to keep on sitting in a Tuk-Tuk to travel around as the pollution level on the road was really pretty bad. One thing that I realized about the traffic road was that there were not much traffic lights for pedestrian and you really have to find an overhead bride or perform those jay-walking across the road like those locals.

Take a look at some of the photos:

On day 2 night after our day-tour in Bangkok, we wanted to rest awhile in our hotel before going to watch the lady-boy show, we encountered a slight tremor in our hotel room. We were staying on the 20th floor and we hurried rushed down to the lobby to find out what was happening. To add on to our panic mode, we heard fire engine and ambulance rushing by our hotel to the next few building. We were told that there were a fire going on at one of the shopping malls but the receptionists had no ideas about the earthquake tremors at all. We went ahead with a worried heart to watch the lady-boy show and it was a really great show that shouldn’t be missed as my worried was gone once the show started. We managed to get a discount on the tickets through our tour agent and if you intend to watch it when you are going to Bangkok, make sure you buy your ticket through the local tour agency.

After watching the show, we went back to our hotel and find out more about the earthquake tremor that we felt previously but we were not able to get a definite answer. We decided to go back to our hotel to find out more through the news and we found that there were an earthquake happened in Myanmar which is near to Chiang Rai (somewhere in Thailand too). This caused some panic as our next day destination was to go to Chiang Mai. Lucky, the resort personnel gave me her cell phone number and we made a phone call to her to check the condition over at her side. We were told not to worry as their resort were all low rise building and there were no seas near their resort too as they were surrounded by big mountains.

When we reached Chiang Mai, we realized there were a big difference in terms of pace over there. Everything seems so peaceful and slow pace compared to Bangkok or Singapore. The air over there were much better and fresher with lesser traffic. However, we didn’t have much activities when we reached our resort as the location was quite secluded. We asked our resort manager, Aoy about what we can do over there and booked our next day tour package to the elephant camp. Over there at the elephant camp, I managed to complete another bucket list of mine which is to have an elephant ride. The day tour package consisted of bamboo rifting ride, watching elephant drawing plus show, sit on the elephant, taking a ride on ox cart, going to orchid plus butterfly farm and our buffet lunch. The ride on the elephant was quite fun as it was an experience that you can’t describe in words as it was quite shaky but enjoyable.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Thailand and know a few great people over there such as the resort manager and the chiang mai taxi driver. It is pretty hard to catch a taxi or tuk tuk in Chiang Mai than in Bangkok so make sure you get the stuff to get one for you through booking. If you want to see more photos about my trip, do add me as friend through facebook. I will stop my post right here and if you have a chance, do visit Thailand and update me your experience too.

Are you a speed reader in reading books? If you are, you probably like to grab ideas fast and want to save time. Personally, I started speed reading in year 2009 and found the importance of learning speed reading through my friend. Didn’t really realized that speed reading is so good until I see the benefits of time save and the amount of stuff I learn throughout the short period of time.

Check Out Enounce MySpeed Software Here!

Recently, I was listening to an internet marketing podcast and I was surprised that there was actually a software that allow speed watching of videos at a faster pace. The name of the software was called Enounce MySpeed and what it did is to let you watch flash videos on any website at a faster or slower pace from 0 to 5x the speed based on your own adjustment. After checking out the website, I went to download the 7 days trial version of the software. I was thinking whether to buy the software after the 7 days trial as it cost about 30 bucks. One disadvantage about the software was it only allows you to watch flash videos at a faster speed which means almost all kind of videos online. On the other hand, those training or seminar videos that I have on my computer that are in other file format such as wmv, avi, mp4 and etc will not be able to watch at a faster pace through the software unless I go and convert them into flash format. Anyway, I did not convert the file format of all my videos on my computer and went to find for alternative solution to the problem. I found a solution through my friend and realized that we can actually use this free software called VLC player to play offline videos of any format at a faster pace. Therefore, I managed to solve the problem of watching offline videos at a faster pace and I was able to re-watch all my training and seminar videos at a faster pace which save up a lot of my time as I am able to grab the ideas through repeated watching. When i mentioned about time save through watching it a faster pace, what I actually mean is that when you watch the video at twice the speed for an one hour video, you will only take half an hour to finish watching it. Just imagine how much time is saved when you have a lot of videos to re-watch again.

Although VLC player is able to allow you to watch offline and online video at twice the speed, it does not allow online videos that are stored inside a training portal. In the end, I went ahead to purchase the Enounce MySpeed software and has already been using it with great delight as I was able to filter out a lot of training videos online with a much shorter time especially those product launch videos that teaches you their methods of doing things online to make money. Personally, I will definitely recommend anyone who want to be more productive with their time spend on watching training videos online with the use of Enounce MySpeed software. If you are interested about the software, go check out through my affiliate links and give the software a try for 7 days. No matter whether you are buying the software or not, I think you must really give it a try to see whether it is useful for your own learning growth.

Check Out Enounce MySpeed Software Here!

Previously, I was thinking whether is there any way I can finish watching those training videos within a shorter time frame when I was trying to repeat watching the same thing again to grab a better concept of the ideas shown. It seems that my wish has come true through the help of law of attraction as I manage to know this great software through the recommendation of some great internet marketer. I will stop my post here and hope this software that I recommend today can help you in your own journey to success too.

P.S. Based on FTC rules, I have to inform you that if you are to buy through any of my affiliate links, I will be making a small portion commission as referral person but don’t need to worry as it will not affect your use of this great software
