Last weekend, I went for a short overseas trip to batam with my girlfriend and friends to enjoy ourselves. The short trip refresh my spirit as I tend to start thinking of my progress with the results that I wanted to achieve and whether I am still on track of my 3 promises (goals) that I have set for myself at the start of this year.

After thinking through, I realized that I have been slacking behind these past few weeks as I have procrastinate on my running and some morning waking up habits to read a book.

For a quick update of my 3 promises for this year,
1) Prepare and participate in a 42KM Marathon
- have completed 16km run and need to sign up a next run so that I can force myself to start my running routine again

2) Read at least 15 self-help books
- Have completed 9 books currently, still short of 6

3) Make a consistent 4 figure income online and at least a 5 figure for one month
- only manage to make some CPA income and some clickbank income but it is still not consistent yet

Okay, back to the overseas batam trip, the resort that I went was Harris Batam Resort and I really enjoy myself over there as they have facilities like swimming pool, pool and billard table, table tennis areas, massage and spa, suana, bowling, gym, water polo, bicycle rental and many more. In our batam package, we also get to travel to the town area of Batam and it opened up my eyes when I see some of the slums areas of Indonesia. I feel grateful of what I have now and I should not really complain of what troubles that I’m facing now as my problems are not as big a problem compared to theirs. At the resort, one of the thing that I enjoyed was the live band performance during dinner as the host was quite engaging and fun. I do recommend you to go to Harris Batam Resort if you are planning for a short trip as it will really refresh your spirit and keep you going on your own journey to success.

Cheers
Javier

Are you currently doing things that you enjoy most? Is there a way to do things more effectively without having to go through so much troubles and worries? Actually, there are better ways to solve problems that we are facing currently if we are willing to open our mind towards best practices outsourcing our life.

What do I mean best practices outsourcing our life? This means that we should do what we are best of and get someone else to do what we have troubles with which means find the experts to solve our problems. For my case, I am actually a bad writer as I usually have a hard time putting words and phrases together in english and in my journey to create an online business, I do need to write articles for my affiliate sites which actually cause a headache to myself. I have actually heard of those overseas online mentors teaching us to find someone overseas and outsource what we don’t like to do. This will usually helps us solve our problems of writing but personally I am actually quite reluctant to outsource to an overseas personnel as the pricing seems to be a problem to me. Thus, in order to save the cost of outsourcing my article writing, I do it myself and in the end, I become quite fed up about writing and gave up on one of the sites that I made my first online dollar purely through article marketing. Recently, I joined a paid forum (PPV Playbook) which teaches online marketing through PPV traffic and some other techniques. In the forum, I met a lot of interesting members from all over the world and I listed down some of my problems that I faced on my journey in internet marketing. The good thing is my problem don’t seem to be a problem through their eyes as they are able to give me suggestions to help me solve my problems.

One of my problems is to rewrite an article for my affiliate sites and what they suggest is outsourcing it to someone else overseas or even my friends who are willing to take up the task. The idea strucked me by the head as I have never try asking my friend before whether they are able to help me rewrite those articles at a reasonable fees. Things got interesting after I saw the forum post and I went ahead to think of some friends who might be willing to take up the task and help me with the article rewriting. After going through my mind of who to ask, I realized that I do have friends who are good in this area and I went ahead to contact him. He agreed with my proposal and my problem of rewriting articles is solved.

Through this incident, I have learnt that it is very important for us to free up our mind from those things we do not like to do and get someone who is good at it to help us complete it so that we can focus on the thing we are good at. What I suggesting is not pushing all your tasks that you don’t feel like doing to someone else to do as it is actually avoiding responsiblity in life. What I trying to get is to look for someone who is good in the area that you are not and ask for their help if they are very efficient in that area. Partner with that person to get the task done as you will definitely feel happier in life but do make sure that you reward the person well and treat them good as they will definitely help you out.

This is the first time that I have tried out outsourcing the things I hate doing and I can say that the feeling is really great as it free up my mind to concentrate on the things that I am doing pretty good at. Therefore, start thinking positively that any problems can actually be solved easily if we approach it with an open mind.

Cheers

Javier

I have completed my 16KM North East Run Marathon with a great success as my personal timing was 1:36:19 which is 1 hour, 36 minutes and 19 seconds based on the finishing board with running tag number 1450. Why do I say that completing the 16KM marathon is a great success to me as I have never run 16KM before at one shot and I have observed and learned quite a lot of things during the run.

I am going to share with you what I have noticed during the run.

1) Always arrived earlier (about half an hour) to get yourself mentally and physically prepared for the run as you may want to visit the washroom or save keep your belonging. Most important is not to miss the warm up exercises before the run as I have noticed some of the runners have leg cramps during the run and have to stop to stretch their legs or some even can’t continue the run due to the cramps.

2) Try to follow your usual own pace and try not to follow other people paces as it will interrupt your whole running momentum. Start the run with your own pace and as you build up your momentum, you can start choosing someone as your target who is about your pace to run with as you will be able to remind yourself to keep moving forward and not slow down yourself due to your mind chatters of asking you to rest.

3) Focus your mind while you are running and observe your mind chatters. There will definitely be times where your mind will tell you to stop running and asking how many more kilometres do I have to run to reach the destination. Always keep postive thoughts and keep on moving forward and tell yourself that you will definitely reach the destination faster if you keep on running. Focus on your run instead of the floor marking or the surroundings as those will distract your running momentum.

Most important of all is keep yourself hydrated before and during the run as water can give us energy to keep on moving forward. One more thing that I noticed after meeting up with my mastermind group one day after the run to review our progress is that I tend to think too much about the small stuff and become paralyse in taking actions to solve a problem. I have read books in this area before and was not awared that I am caught in the analysis paralysis stage. After thinking through it, I realized that I should make use of my running strategy of keep moving forward and stop the mind chatters to take more actions in order to see the results.

Hope this post has bring you some great tips too in your running or even your own personal growth to success.

Cheers
Javier

Tang Cheng

Happy New Year to everyone who visit this blog, this is a new year 2010 and I will like to update some progress along the way. Recently in late December 2009, I went to Hong Kong, Macau and Zhu Hai for a 5 days 4 nights holiday and it was my first time taking a flight overseas. When I start to think back about the past 1 year, I realized that I have actually grown quite a bit as 2009 was the first year that I stepped out my home country, Singapore. Once the plane starts to take off, I started to panic as this was my first time sitting on an airplane but once I thought of my desired travel lifestyle, I started to feel better. Sitting on the airplane allowed me to experience what Tony Robbins had mentioned before in his seminar that an airplane took so much energy to take off and due to the weather conditions, they have to adjust the flight in order to reach the destination. If you are aware of what I’m actually trying to get you, you will understand that we have to take massive actions and adjust our plans along our journey to success in order to reach our destination.

A few things that I enjoyed during this overseas trip were the food and cold weather, the temperature over there were from 8 – 18 Degree Celsius which I could not experience in Singapore. When the last day of my holiday, I started to realize that this is actually the lifestyle that I always desired with no worries about work or money and able to travel around freely to new countries to explore the new places with my loved ones.

One interesting thing that happened when I came back in Singapore was that I found that my CPA commission had increased in profits during my trip which I have left my campaign untouched during the 5 days. Now, I start to see some consistent real profits coming in and I will update here again once that amount become more significant. This overseas trip has allowed me to see new things and opportunities in my journey to success and I become more clear of what I want in my life.

Before I end this post, I will like to write down my 3 main promises that I want to meet in Year 2010.

1) Prepare and participate in a 42KM Marathon.

(Have signed up a 16KM North East Run recently and will take part more along the year)

2) Read at least 15 self-help books

(Have to restart my morning reading habit again)

3) Make a consistent 4 figure income online and at least a 5 figure for one month

(Have to put in more effort and work on my belief to make this works for myself)

Lastly, a happy new year to all my readers and all the best in your journey to success too.

Cheers
Javier

P.S. Remember to take massive actions and adjust your flight accordingly along your journey to success.

This is going to be a short post that record down my running experience as it is about a month since I crossed the 5KM running mark. To many people, crossing the 5KM running mark is not a very significant moment especially for those people who has run a marathon (42KM) before. However, crossing the 5KM mark is considered a special moment for me as this is the first time that I have run beyond 5KM in a single run. I can say the feeling of running more than 5KM is great as your knees and legs will be aching for the first timer. Personally, I faced acute pain in both my knees from that particular run and I have to rest for 1 week before I continue my schedule number of rounds.

When I got the acute pain in my knees, I was quite surprised about it as it was my first time having such pain in my knees and I thought I could no longer continue to run in this kind of condition of long journey distance. However, I heard from one of my friend that it is considered normal as our legs are not seasoned enough when we first run such a long distance and he advice me to rest a week before continuing my running schedule. I followed his instruction and to my amazed, I am running cross the 7KM mark now with no pain in my knees.

What I have learned from this experience is to stay persistent and let no fear or pain stop you from achieving the success in your journey. Along the journey to success, you may face obstacles that will hinder your progress towards success so be persistent on your promise to yourself and you will feel greater and better along the way. I will end this post with a quote that I read recently from Bill Bartmann book: Billionaire Secrets to Success.

#Quote: Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eye off your goals. ~ Bill Bartmann

Cheers

The time right now is about 2am and I’m feeling very glad and happy as I managed to learn something great in my life recently. I have been reading Robert Kiyosaki’s Increase Your Financial IQ book and there wrote a very interesting concept about whenever you solve your personal financial problems, you will gain some financial IQ in yourself and the more problems you solve, the more financial knowledge you will gain in life and the richer you will become. I did not really grab this concept well until something happen in my own personal relationship with my girlfriend. I have been persuing my own journey to success and I did not really realize that she has been feeling neglected by me in some way as our mindset seems to drift apart. Personally, I thought that our relationship has been very strong as we have been together for more than 3 years and she has been very understanding on me to whatever I have been doing. However, our mindset seems to drift apart as she tends to become busy with her stuff and I was busy persuing my own personal journey. I did not understand why I start to feel that she don’t seems to understand that I have been trying hard to make a better future for us and although we did not quarrel, there’s a slient guessing going on between both of us.

The slient guessing caused both of us to feel insecured and emotionally affected. However, when both of us sit down together to discuss about the matter, the dark clouds seems to clear itself after the rain. What I’m trying to get here is both of us did not avoid the problem in our relationship and really discuss about it. This helps to clear out each other guessing and misunderstanding. On the other hand, we also managed to strengthen our relationship as both of us really say out what is in our mind that keep on bothering us. This relationship lesson taught me a very meaningful lesson in life as we should not avoid our problems when we face them in life, we will be able to learn a new meaning and grow ourselves along the way. Please remember that a problem unsolved does not mean that it will solve by itself or others so make sure whenever you are faced with a problem or hardship, faced it without fear and don’t avoid it as solving it will help to grow our knowledge in our journey to success.

The 2 rings above has been named the Ring of Growth by me and was bought to replaced the previous lost ring that I have with my dear. The Ring of Growth will grow together with us to solve the future problems we have as a couple and will continue to bring more learning in our journey to success as she is one of my driving force in life to create a better future. Therefore, I will have my journey of success with her together as she provides the meaning and reasons for what I have been striving for.

Cheers

Javier

P.S. Are you facing any problems in life? If you are, faced it without fear and the light will brighten your journey along the way.

The reason why my legs were tired was due to my weekly running as I have managed to complete 15 rounds of running (about 6KM) for my personal training. This was the first time that I have run past the 5KM mark and this actually caused my knees to ache without any warning. However, I decided to rest for a week to see how my condition is going before continuing my run to increase another run.

My dear and I went to Kenko Fish Spa at the Singapore Flyers and we went ahead to try out the fish spa over there. Personally, I feel that in my journey to success, it is very important to try out new stuff to have new experiences and leisure lifestyle is what I desired in my life so I must enjoy myself to my fullest. This is the first time I have tried out any spa and I can say that the fish spa is very interesting and entertaining as the fishes will eat away your dead skins on your legs. As you can see the above picture, our legs are been attacked by fishes and what they are trying to do is to eat our dead skins on our legs. We were told that other than eating away our dead skins, the fishes also help in blood circulation. While enjoying our time and having tea at the same time, we saw other people from overseas came into the shop to give the fish spa a try.

The first thing we need to do was to take off our shoes and after that wash it before going into the pond. Starting, you will feel quite itchy and most of the people will either scream or make a noise and I was one of them. However, once you get used to the itchness, you will tend to enjoy it as you will feel like there is electric current going through your legs. Do give Kenko Fish Spa a try if you manage to pass by their shop as it is very interesting to try out new stuff in life and most important is enjoy yourself during the process.

Cheers

Most successful entrepreneur usually plan out their schedule of what they need to achieve by the week or month or even year through their schedule planner. The reason why they use a schedule planner is to remind them the task they need to do and keep them on track of their goals they want to achieve.

Personally, I do not have the habit of planning out my schedule and my To-Do-List of the week which caused me to get really lost of what needs to be done in order to achieve my goals. However, I am slowly exploring different ways that suits myself so that I can get hold of this habit of planning ahead in order to achieve the results I want in life. There are plenty of ways you can perform in terms of planning out your schedule, some people will prefer writing it down on a physical planner and some will do it using their handphone or even the internet. I bought myself a physical planner and also make use of the handphone to set reminders as sometimes we tend to forget some of the minor stuff that need to be settled. I also managed to find out that google has a very impressive calendar that allows us to set different layers of calendar that differentiate between your work and your personal stuff. Google Calendar even have reminders that allows you to set emails to your mail or SMS to your handphone for FREE. I have tried the SMS function out and was pretty glad that I learned this method after attending a course at my work place. The impressive part of google calendar is that it also allows you to keep track of your favourite soccer team game schedule through applying for the function. Another benefit about doing your weekly To-Do-List through google calendar is that you can repeat the same task throughout the week easily with a click of the mouse.

There’s a lot of things that you can try to integrate google calendar to improve your efficiency. However, I will still stick with my physical planner for the time being as I believe if you truely wants to integrate google calendar with great use, the best is to sync it with your phone. The current phone that I’m using does not allows wifi or sync function so I cannot grab the true power of google calendar. However, the most important thing is to plan ahead to prevent from drifted around by the surroundings. As what some great people always says “People Don’t Plan to Fail But They Usually Fail to Plan!”

Cheers

Have you ever learned how to drive a car before? If you did, you may roughly know how much it cost to learn how to drive a car before getting a license. Seeing a car on the road is a very common thing as it is a form of transportation and most young adult will want to learn how to drive once they reach the acceptable age of 18 (in Singapore). I am one of those young adult who wants to get a driving license but it took me about 5 years before I start my first driving lesson.

Why did it take me so long to start learning how to drive a car? The answer to the question is all due to my own personal belief system. Personally, I actually wanted to learn how to drive when I am age 18 but I always quite hesitant about spending the money to learn how to drive as i know from my friends and family members that the overall cost to get a driving license will take about 1500-2000 dollars. A few years back, I see the amount of money being quite significant to me as I have other commitment on hand which stop myself from spending the money to learn and I will usually give myself or my friends the excuse that my family does not own a car, why should I learn it now although my heart tells me that I want to learn it.

During my army days (about 2 years ago), there was a time where I felt quite annoyed about not having a driving license as I stayed in a bulk where 10 out of 12 people had a driving lesson and all of them would start asking me why I didn’t go get my driving license. I even have friends who were willing to lend me their cars to drive if I am able to get my driving license. However, I was still quite reluctant about spending the sum of money and just went to take my driving theory only.

Back to the present, currently I am on the path of learning how to drive a car and how did I actually solve the money issue? Actually, I have always see the money too big of an issue on myself and didn’t really realize that I can break things down into simpler form. How did I actually learn about how to break down the money issue into a simpler form? It all started at the point when I start my first driving lesson after passing my final theory. Whoever pass their final theory is given 2 years to take their practical driving test and I was forced to think of ways to come up with the money to learn how to drive but until the point that I start looking up for driving instructor then I realized that the payment of one hour private lesson is about 22-30 bucks which is quite affordable in the short run and it all depends on the number of lessons that I am taking for each month.

Remember if you want to learn something that will benefit you, go ahead and take the action to do it. There are plenty of ways to break down the finance but if you feel that there’s no urgent time limit for you to learn the skill immediately, you can put that into your wishlist and once you manage to accumulate the money required, go ahead and fulfill your wishlist in order to enjoy the process of learning.

Cheers
Javier

Here’s an update of my current running status, I am running a total of 12 rounds (about 4.8KM) and increasing every week. One of the reasons why I want to increase the number of rounds per week is to listen to what my inner voice is telling me when I’m feeling tired and at the same time training myself to build my belief system to achieve greater limit in my life.

Yesterday, I was running at around 11am which is near noon time and I can say its considered the most tiring run I have so far as the sun was draining my energy faster than expected. However, I managed to go through my target of running 12 rounds around the park without stopping.

During my 12 rounds run, I met a little gal who was learning how to ride a bicycle. Although her bicycle was having 4 wheels, she still seems to have a fear of riding the bicycle as she was cycling very slowly towards her dad. Suddenly, I had a memory recall of the time when I first learned how to ride a 2 wheels bicycle when I was primary 4. I could still recall it as it was one of my own personal achievement to learn how to ride a 2 wheels bicycle on my own. I could relate my feelings of learning how to ride a bicycle to what I am currently learning (Internet Marketing) as it do takes some time to learn how to do it correctly. I felt that the same scenario goes for learning how to cycle as when you do not know how to ride initially, you may feel that its very easy to do so when you see people cycling around you but when you tried it yourself, you find it hard to control the bicycle and you may even fear that you may fall and hurt yourself. However, once you master the skill of riding a bicycle, you will be riding it freely without any fear of not able to control it when you are on it.

You may engage someone to teach you how to cycle and cut short the learning curve but I realized that the most important part is that you must keep on stepping on your pedals to move forward by yourself in order to get the bicycle moving. A very important lesson that I myself learned from my memory recall of how I learn to cycle is that you may be fearful of falling and hurt yourself. However, do not let the fear of falling (failing) stop yourself from enjoying what may come once you master the skills. Visualize yourself that you have achieved the skills and enjoying yourself having that skills as this will push yourself from continuing trying even after a fall.

I will still continue to increase the number of running rounds per week and more updates will be done in this blog if I found any particular interesting learning experiences that I found along the way. Hope you learn something meaningful too in my journey to success.

Cheers
