This is going to be a short post that record down my running experience as it is about a month since I crossed the 5KM running mark. To many people, crossing the 5KM running mark is not a very significant moment especially for those people who has run a marathon (42KM) before. However, crossing the 5KM mark is considered a special moment for me as this is the first time that I have run beyond 5KM in a single run. I can say the feeling of running more than 5KM is great as your knees and legs will be aching for the first timer. Personally, I faced acute pain in both my knees from that particular run and I have to rest for 1 week before I continue my schedule number of rounds.
When I got the acute pain in my knees, I was quite surprised about it as it was my first time having such pain in my knees and I thought I could no longer continue to run in this kind of condition of long journey distance. However, I heard from one of my friend that it is considered normal as our legs are not seasoned enough when we first run such a long distance and he advice me to rest a week before continuing my running schedule. I followed his instruction and to my amazed, I am running cross the 7KM mark now with no pain in my knees.
What I have learned from this experience is to stay persistent and let no fear or pain stop you from achieving the success in your journey. Along the journey to success, you may face obstacles that will hinder your progress towards success so be persistent on your promise to yourself and you will feel greater and better along the way. I will end this post with a quote that I read recently from Bill Bartmann book: Billionaire Secrets to Success.
#Quote: Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eye off your goals. ~ Bill Bartmann
